Emergency Food Assistance in Broome County

Per the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), as of November 10, 2025:

New York State has issued full SNAP benefits. SNAP benefit information will continue to be updated on the OTDA website, myBenefits, and the ebtEDGE website. SNAP households may also receive text messages from NY OTDA about SNAP benefit updates.

Please continue to complete all SNAP requirements, including recertifications, returning periodic reports, and reporting changes.

New applications for SNAP will continue to be accepted. For more information or to apply/renew SNAP benefits, visit mybenefits.ny.gov or contact the Broome County Department of Social Services at (607) 778-1100.

Protect Your Benefits

Remember to protect yourself from scams targeting Electronic (EBT) cardholders.

New York State rules allow certain Temporary Assistance benefits to be replaced if they have been stolen through electronic means (card skimming, cloning, third party misrepresentation or other similar fraudulent methods such as phishing). However, SNAP benefits can no longer be replaced if stolen.
