The meetings listed on this page, including committee meetings and Legislative Sessions are Public Meetings and are open to the public. On rare occasions, the Legislature or a committee may convene an executive session.

The most direct and immediate way to contact your Legislator (or all Legislators) is by e-mail. Contact information for all Legislators can be found here. You may also include the Legislature office on the the e-mail by copying LegClerk@BroomeCountyNY.gov so the staff can ensure the email is received.

The County Legislature operates under a strong and active committee system. If a member of the public would like to speak on a topic currently under consideration by the Legislature, it is suggested that the individual attend the committee meeting where the topic is being discussed. At the committee meeting, an individual may request that the Chair grant them permission to address the committee on the particular topic being considered by the Legislature.

If a public official, such as a Mayor or Town Supervisor, wishes to address the Legislature, it is recommended that they contact the Chair of the Legislature prior to the beginning of the session. The Chair of the Legislature may recognize and grant Privilege of the Floor to that public official to address the Legislature.
