CENTRAL INTAKE

The Central Intake unit is designed to help families in need of support and services when the concerns do not warrant a call to the Statewide Central Register (SCR). We believe that families who are struggling should not have to go through the trauma of a Child Protective Services (CPS) investigation. Central Intake can provide an assessment with linkage and referrals to programs and assistance with concrete supports to help families who need a hand up.

If you or a family you know of is struggling, please call The Central Intake Line at (607) 778-2700.

- We are Meant to THRIVE, not Just Survive -

Referrals can be made Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm, except on major holidays. Referrals are accepted by phone (607-778-2700) or email DSS-Central-Intake-Unit@broomecountyny.gov. Any referrals made after-hours will be addressed the next business day. Emergencies should be directed to local law enforcement or the SCR. Anyone can refer a family; however, anonymous referrals will not be accepted.
